What a fantastic first year we’ve had since launching our monthly Finds Competition. A big THANK YOU to all the members who entered their finds. Plus a huge THANK YOU to our judges who have given up their time throughout the year to help with the competition. While they have loved seeing the variety of finds each month, it has really tested their resolve, making it a very tough job to pick a winner each month.
The Annual winners have been chosen from the winners of each month over the last year, this includes Best Coin, Best Artefact and Best Hoard. Each category winner receives £500 plus a Trevor & Sue Austin Memorial Trophy, which is to honor two of the founding members of NCMD. They worked tirelessly with other founding members to protect our great hobby from outside interference.
COIN CATEGORY WINNER 2025

ARTEFACT CATEGORY WINNER 2025
Congratulations to Shaun, who originally won the March competition with this beautiful Roman Bow and Fantail Brooch with red enamel.
HOARD CATEGORY WINNER 2025
Congratulations to Keith & Lisa who entered this stunning Gold and Silver medieval hoard. Comprising of 19 Silver groats from Henry V to Edward IV and 10 Gold demys and 1 Gold half demy of James I and James II of Scotland.
