Treasure Process Meeting

As many of you will know, the treasure process isn’t perfect, but its purpose is important as it ensures that important historical artefacts are protected for future generations.

The NCMD has been pushing for more transparency so that detectorists can have a better understanding of the process and why items can take so long to go through to a conclusion.

The first step was a meeting with members of the PAS and the Treasure Valuation Committee at the BM in London. We are grateful for their time and we will be sharing the various presentations with everyone in due course.

It was great to take advantage of the meeting location and visit the Roman Legions exhibition while we were there. If you get the chance to visit, it’s highly recommended. It is on until 23rd June 2024.
Tickets can be booked via their website: British Museum
