Please add a description of your find, add as much detail as possible. Also include the PAS reference number where possible, if it has been added to the database.:
While out on a dig with Ninth Region metal detecting club. Shane, Troy my son who is Ten and myself Royston were blessed with finding three huge Roman lead Ingots( Roman Pigs). They weigh between 80-100 kilos each. They are lead with the emporor Vespasian pressed on top of the cast and into the top of the ingot. On the side there are some Roman numerals and imbossed from the cast some other letters. Ninth Region club called in the archaeoligists via NCMD and we contacted the FLO. The whole experience was amazing and especially to my son Troy who is 10 and a keen metal detectorist. At the moment the ingots are with the FLO of the area we were in and now going through the treasure process. So we cannot say too much more about them at the moment. We would like to thank Ninth Region metal detecting club especially, Steve Dan and Mike for their dedication to history and their professionalism when it came to helping us with this amazing hoard of Roman Ingots.
