Last year we introduced a new junior finds competition for the many youngsters who enjoy the hobby alongside their parents. The age limit was set at fifteen.
Entries began arriving for the usual three categories, Hoard, Coin and Artefact, accompanied by enthusiastic emails from both the entrants and parents alike.
We decided that winners and runners-up would receive trophies with everyone who entered also getting a goody bag.
An article will be sent to the two hobby magazines with photos of the winning entries and, more importantly, photos of the lucky winners.
Winner – Isabelle Gough (Age 10) 9 Horse Harness Rings.
Winner – Lewis Lomas (Age 9) King Henry VIII Groat.
Runner-Up – Finn Jacobs (Age 14) King John short cross penny.
Winner – Lewis Lomas (Age 9) Roman Disc Brooch.
Runner-Up – Patrick Hooper (Age 11) A complete piece of Bronze-Age ribbon gold.
Many thanks to everyone who entered and congratulations to the winners – well done! We will certainly be running the competition again!
