Anglo-Saxon shilling ('thrymsa') belonging to the Witmen derived type. Tony Abramson's Gold Coins of Anglo-Saxon England lists 27 coins of this type, This from the same dies as Abramson, p. 42, no 220, which is in the Ashmolean Museum from the Crondall hoard, and eight other coins. This is a coinage of c. 620-645. The coin will be submitted to PAS next week as has already been seen as an item of cultural significance by the Norfolk team. The coin was found at the Narford Hall estate with East of England Rallies.
